Dell launches blog

As many people have said,  Robert Scoble, Jeff Jarvis, Steve Rubel , Andy Lark, Stuart Bruce, Shel Holtz, Tom Murphy, to name a few -  Dell have launched a blog, One2One.

Some of this has been positive some negative but it looks like it might be a rocky road for Dell to begin with.  Good luck to them.

Having just made the step to set up a blog it can be daunting and difficult to begin with even more so with the eyes and keyboards of the blogosphere on you.  While writing every post I think what if this is the wrong thing to say, the wrong way to link, has a typo in, etc but you can't let that stop you and Dell haven't.  I'm sure they considered what might happen' worst case' before doing this but thought it a step in the right direction so made that step.

Yes the videos may be trying to replicate Channel 9 and most of the content about their products it's going to take a while to sort out their own voice and style, they have however joined the conversation and that is what it should be - a two way dialogue or conversation, where they're able to listen and learn from it just as we all try to do.

Update - Dell is a client, forgot to add that earlier.

Just had a peek and the Dell blog has clocked more than 100 comments, and the first 15 I scanned were all very positive, welcoming Dell to the blogsphere, and praising its products. Let's hope these are real commentors!

Interestingly, a lot of concerned Dell owners ask about this story that is circulating, that Dell installs keylogger hardware in their laptops. http://virus.org.ua/unix/keylog/klog.htm
It will be interesting to see if they respond.

Another commentor advises: "Linking to people people who are critical of your blog shows that it's not being run by your PR department and that they are not controlling your content. That seems to be half the battle for a corporate blog." How true. (Disclaimer: Write Image is in no way involved in Dell's blog. As far as we can tell, it's all their baby.)
